Roger is a free group voice messenger for friends, families, and teams who miss talking to each other. Conversations on Roger sound crystal clear, better than regular phone calls even on poor connections. Perfect for when you're on-the-go or driving.
In addition to voice messaging Roger users can also use a number of popular services including Amazon Alexa.
Ricardo Vice Santos and Andreas Blixt, two former Spotify engineers, began working on Roger in late 2014 after Ricardo ran into a pole on the streets of New York while walking and texting with a friend in Sweden. Ricardo was frustrated as he simply wanted to talk.
While laughing about the incident, the two felt that there should be a simple way to communicate without looking down at a touchscreen and texting all the time. Something that would enable you to actually use your voice, in any situation, wherever you are.
Launched in December 2015, Roger empowers thousands of conversations daily, across more than 120 countries.
We’re a team of 6 people from 5 different countries based in New York City. Most of us work on the product (designing and coding), and the rest work with the community. We love talking, and we speak 3-4 languages each.
